Igor

Well, it’s been a string of slow news days around here, but now the waiting seems worth it! Buscemi is slated to voice yet another quirky, kooky animated character, this time in Igor.
A playfully irreverent comedy which brings a new twist to the classic monster genre, Igor is the story of a mad scientist’s hunchbacked lab assistant who has big dreams of becoming a scientist in his own right and winning the coveted first place award at the annual Evil Science Fair.
The voice cast includes Steve Buscemi (Charlotte’s Web, Fargo) as “Scamper,” Igor’s super intelligent and ill-tempered lab rabbit, John Cleese (”Shrek” 2 & 3, A Fish Called Wanda) as “Dr. Glickenstein,” Igor’s evil master, and Christian Slater (Windtalkers, Untamed Heart) in the role of “Igor.” The Weinstein Company has an all encompassing distribution deal for Igor, including North America as well as representing international rights. TWC secured film distribution for most foreign territories at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. [Read More]

And Mr. Buscemi plays the part of - drum roll, please - THE TOURIST! (in the segment ‘Tuileries’) Zowie. It may be a bigger role than it sounds, since a number of media outlets are using the photo above for promo. I’ll definately catch it if it ever hits the Dallas indie circuit. Reviews so far are positive!

“I looked, and I just saw this wall of black and gray coming at me.”
Dust to Dust: The Health Effects of 9/11 (Sept. 11 at 10p.m., Sundance): Actor and former FDNY firefighter Steve Buscemi narrates an examination of possible toxins at the WTC site.
This is obviously a subject close to Mr. Buscemi’s heart. You can view the source article for a listing of other 9/11 specials.
Monster House reviews

Monster House is getting mixed reviews from the media, but looks to be an adorable family comedy that kids can appreciate and parents can relate to. Buscemi voices Nebbercracker, the delightful little creature pictured above.
It has scored a 73% at Rotten Tomatoes, and you can click that link to read some of the reviews that contributed to that ranking. Good is outweighing bad by 60 votes, which says something right there. The film premiered at the #2 spot in box offices with earnings of $22,217,226. It’s fouth week shows it at the #10 spot, with accumulated earnings at $63,663,488. Not bad for a kid’s flick, huh?
This movie is still in theatres.
Resevoir Dogs screenplay
Posted by Mona - No Comments“Freeze motherfucker! Drop your fucking gun!”
I stumbled across this little gem, and just in time for the 15th Anniversary of the film: it’s the Resevoir Dogs screenplay! I personally view this as one of Tarintino’s - and Buscemi’s - best flicks. Mercy me. I hope your printer has plenty of ink…
