Damn, Canada: Another CW review
Posted by Mona - No CommentsSteve Buscemi voices Templeton, the rat who appears to be selfish but who comes through in the clutch for Wilbur. Buscemi is one of the highlights of Charlotte’s Web. “What’s in it for the rat?” he asks in his distinctive nasal accent, and you hear some of the spirit that could have brought the movie to life.

Charlotte’s Web interview, review; you must view
Posted by Mona - No Comments“It’s probably my only reservation about doing this is that it’s been done so well before,” Buscemi admitted to ComingSoon.net during the film’s New York junket. “It’s pretty daunting, thanks for bringing it up.”

Charlotte’s Web, the live action version of E.B. White’s classic book by the same name, has gotten fantastic buzz since it’s premier earlier this month. As with any film who’s release date is fast approaching, the stars are schmoozing and the critics are having their say. I’ve been squirming like a 2-year old for months, waiting for this one to come out. Charlotte’s Web was one of my favorite books as a child, and Templeton was (as I have previously mentioned) my favorite character. When I heard that Buscemi was cast in the role, I just about squealed. But nobody particularly cares what I have to say about it - I am somewhat of an unnecessary fourth step - so let’s get to the expert links. I’ve picked my two favorites.
First up is three-way interview from Coming Soon with Buscemi, Andre 3000 and Cedric the Entertainer. Cedric voices Golly Goose, Andre appears as Elwyn the Crow and Buscemi, as we know, owns the screen as Templeton. Click here to read the full article.
One of the first articles I read on the movie was this one, written by Forrest Hartman.
Just think back to director Ron Howard’s horrific 2000 adaptation of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” or director Bo Welch’s embarrassing take on “The Cat in the Hat.” Fortunately, Winick, whose last film was the winning “13 Going on 30,” gets the tone for “Charlotte’s Web” right.
3.5 stars! Out of 4! Smashing.

Delirious at Sundance
Posted by Mona - No CommentsDelirius, one of Buscemi’s most recent indie films, is set to screen at the 2007 Sundance film festival!
In Delirious Steve Buscemi plays a celebrity photographer who befriends a young homeless man (Michael Pitt) who aspires to be an actor. Alison Lohman plays the starlet of the moment whose romantic interest in Pitt’s character creates a wedge between the two unlikely friends. [Read More]
Sundance is a highly influential independant film outlets in the world, and this certainly isn’t the first time Buscemi has made an apperance. Hopefully this will mean big things for Delirious - it is certainly getting a successful start!

Hot Seat: Steve Buscemi
Posted by Mona - No CommentsBuscemi gives a fantastic interview about the Charlotte’s Web, several of his upcoming projects and how he feels about always playing ‘the rat.’ It’s hard to find interviews featuring Steve these days, and The New York Post did a great job. [Read Article]
On I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry:
“It’s always surprised me how much of an issue this is. People should be able to marry whomever they want to. Adam Sandler will reach a lot of people, and he’ll do it with humor, but he’ll definitely get that message across - that with everything else going on in the world, this is such a silly thing to be against.”
Fargo screenplay

I guess that was your accomplice in the woodchipper.
My lazy browsing brought me to find the Coen Brothers’ (original? I don’t know.) screenplay of the hit movie Fargo, which stars Mr. Buscemi as the crooked and greedy Carl Showalter. [Read Screenplay]
