Whacked Sopranos - the aftermath of MURDER
Posted by Mona - No Comments
‘I was really, really sad,’ said Buscemi. ‘That’s really just about missing the greatest job I’ve ever had.’
Wednesday night, five actors and their respective murdered personas met up at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York for a chat about feelings. The line up included Steve Buscemi (Tony Blundetto), Drea de Matteo (Adriana La Cerva), Vincent Pastore (Salvatore ‘Big Pussy’ Bonpensiero), David Proval (Richie Aprile) and Annabella Sciorra (Gloria Trillo).
Bryant Gumble was involved, so you know it’s got to be good. A repeat will air via Sirius Satellite Radio on March 31st at 4pm.
I now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry trailer

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry - starring Adam Sander, the King of Queens guy, what’s-his-face from Grandma’s Boy, Jessica Biel and, of course, Steve Buscemi - is out in theatres July 20, 2007. Though the trailer doesn’t feature or in any way mention Buscemi, I’m happy to provide the link for your viewing pleasure. This actually looks pretty cute; if nothing else, they’ll attend in droves for a look at Biel’s considerable assets. Yowza.

I Think This Movie Sucks.
Posted by Mona - No CommentsIt appears IMDb stepped their shit up and got Buscemi listed on the I Think I Love My Wife page. Unknown to me (and apparently most people) the movie timidly knocked on box office doors last weekend, coming in at a rowdy #5. For those of you keeping track at home, that’s behind Dead Silence. A movie about a murderous ventriloquist. That’s dead. Dear God… whatever.
“I’m just bored out of my f - - - ing mind,” Rock says during the opening narration. Consider that fair warning.
A quick search reveals everyone hated it. Of course, there is nothing but good things to say about Buscemi. “Steve Buscemi… is a trooper as ever—that guy could enliven an eight-hour documentary about sewage …” From Entertainment Weekly:
… another perfectly pitched supporting turn by Buscemi
I am so against this movie.
July release for Interview
Posted by Mona - No CommentsAs part one of a three part series of van Gogh remakes, (or a ‘trilogy’ as we industry people call it) Interview is expected to release under Sony Picture Classics in July.
The new version of Interview was announced by Sony as part of a trilogy of Van Gogh re-makes, which also includes Blind Date and 06, better known as 1-900 in the US.
Blind Date is due to begin filming in the Netherlands in May.
For more info on the original Blind Date and 1-900, follow the links.
Sony Pictures Classic is my hero

Guess what!?
Steve Buscemi’s “Interview,” a remake of slain director Theo Van Gogh’s Dutch feature starring Sienna Miller, has been picked up for U.S. distribution by Sony Pictures Classics.
Which is odd, because here I was thinking Delirious was the better movie? I guess I’ll know for sure when I see Interview in theatre near me!
Interview at Berlin + reviews
Posted by Mona - No CommentsI may have forgotten to mention that Interview screened at the Berlin Film Festival several weeks ago. Apparently, it did well:
The first screening of Interview caused major traffic jams at the Cinemaxx when the film premiered Tuesday night.
Also, I came across another critic review for the film, written back in the Sundance days. This critic loves him some Sienna Miller, describing her as the “definition of lovely” and “charismatic to watch” while snipping Buscemi as “dour” and the remake “poorly scripted.” Fox News, on the other hand, seemed to like both Miller and her esteemed director. Everyone seems to agree that Miller’s done well for herself here, even if her next movie, Factory Girl, wasn’t quite so nice.
Critics disagreeing?! Shocking, I know. Interview is still making the Festival circuit from what I can tell, as is Delirious, which was also at Berlin. My opinion? Delirious seems like the stronger movie, although I’m not a huge Miller fan and that may have me biased.
