Delirious DVD date #864: Seriously this time
Posted by Mona - No Comments

We’ve heard numerous release dates, and once again the ‘final’ time has changed. Delirious, the Tom DiCillo flick starring Steve Buscemi and Michael Pitt will show itself on shelves on May 6. Extras include a commentary track, behind the scenes featurette, a selection of podcasts (you’ve already seen them, vigilant reader) and a music video.
I want to be excited, but I’m just too afraid. You’ve burned me in the past, Delirious DVD Date. I just don’t know if I can trust you until I have you in my shaking hands… or until DiCillo returns my e-mails. Sweet confirmation! Looks like it’s true. Well, color me excited to be alive.

Sarasota 2008 is sneaking up
Posted by Mona - No Comments

Seems like everyone had such a grand time at last year’s Sarasota Film Festival they just had to do it again. Tickets are on sale now for this year’s event, which kicks off April 4th. You can view a list of competing flicks at the Sarasota FF Box Office and purchase individual movie tickets there.
Stanly Tucci will be honored at the 10th Anniversary Ball, introduced by none other than partner and friend Steve Buscemi.
Netflix interview
Posted by Mona - 1 Comment Thanks to Mel, here’s the Netflix/Jiminy Glick Iinterview from the Independent Spirit Awards. I’ll be frank with you, I only watched about halfway through. Martin Short really gets on my nerves sometimes. Buscemi’s looking pretty sharp though.
Steve Buscemi is judging you
Posted by Mona - No Comments

Attention Americans: Like making videos? Plan on voting for Barak Obama? Boy, do I have an activity for you!
From now until April 1st (how delightfully suspicious!) you are invited to submit your video to MoveOn.org’s Obama in 60 Seconds. If the readers select your clip, it will move on to Celebrity Voting, a panel that features well known actors (Buscemi, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck), musicians (Moby, John Ledgend, Eddie Vedder) and others (uh, Jessie Jackson, anyone?). The winner will have their advertisement run nationally and will receive a gift certificate for $20,000 in video equipment.
Again, deadline is April 1, 2008. Have at it, my little pundits!
Joe Strummer still totally rules

Buscemi appears alongside a graffiti wall of Joe Strummer in the 2004 music video for Redemption Song, released after the famous singer’s death. He also participated in The Future is Unwritten, a 2007 documentary about Strummer and The Clash. Strummer, real name John Graham Mellor, died in 2002.

Big Lebowski ringtone

My current ringtone, thanks to this guy. It took me a half hour to track down this exact clip. Now my iPhone chirps up with Buscemi and Bridges every time I get a call. The sounds are hosted on this site, but all credit goes to the creator.
Donny: Where ya’ going, Dude?
Dude: Home, Donny.
Donny: Phone’s ringing, Dude.
Dude: Thanks, Donny.
Donny: Phone’s ringing, Dude.
Dude: Thanks, Donny.
…etc.

Long live Blu-Ray
Posted by Mona - No CommentsHD-DVD is dead. Congratulations on all your lovely new coasters! Fortunately, several B-Movies have been Blu’d, including Reservoir Dogs, Con Air and Monster House. Sadly, The Big Lebowski and Chuck and Larry are stuck on the loser’s side. Hopefully they’ll transition over, once HD is phased out completely.
