Win Clash DVD + CD

Scatter O’ Light is giving away a copy of The Future is Unwritten plus the soundtrack to one lucky reader. The requirements are painfully simple:

if you want to win: leave a comment using the word “clash” in a sentence.

Go on then, sign up! Winners will be announced July 3, so you’d better get on it fast.

First look at Dr. Rob

A shot of Buscemi as Dr. Robert Wilson in the upcoming John Rabe. More official character shots and a video clip can be seen at The Shanghaiist.

Entertainment Weekly: New Classic 100

EW apparently pulled its head out of the collective Celebrity ass and realized the most entertaining thing about any of these schmucks is their art. (Or “art”, depending on who we’re talking about.) EW has published a lovely list of new classic movies, plus a bunch of extra stuff as fluffer.

Steve Buscemi + a woodchipper + the pure white snow of 1996’s Fargo = arguably the most hilarious ooky death on film.

See all 100 New Classics over at EW.com. My favorite? Goodfellas, of course (#13). The Soprano’s scores a hit for Perfect TV Theme Song and Fargo, quotes above, scores #35 on the Top 100. Well earned, I say, but ‘Office Space’? At #73 Are you fucking kidding me? That movie was talent. Way more than ‘Toy Story’, anyway.

DVD Sale Date for ‘Unwritten’

Just over a year since it’s UK release, Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten will be released on DVD July 8 by Sony Legacy.

Celebrity friends who appear in the documentary about The Clash’s infamous singer include Steve Buscemi, Bono, John Cusack, Peter Crushing, Johnny Depp and Jim Jarmusch. ‘Unwritten’ premiered at Sundance Film Festival back in January of ‘07, and is directed by Julien Temple.

Ain’t no klepto

I know you all know this already, such big fans that we are. But just in case…

That’s not Steve Buscemi, nor (I suspect) would SB ever steal from a teenager for the cash they pay in commercial work.

The Incredible B

He looks like the least likely man to turn into a giant green behemoth, he’s got the chops to bring more geek to the role and IMDB lists him as totally open for the 2011 slot, even if his rumored projects in development all end up seeing the light of day.

I find this to be a very likely scenario, considering the way Hollywood’s gone to the remakes (Didn’t we just do this two years ago?) and bad ones at that. I haven’t seen this movie, and few love Ed Norton more than I… but seriously. I mean, really.
