Buscemi in Texas indie?

Buried in a rather interesting (if dubious) investment story - two Texas men investing in Indie films, of all things - is this little piece of sweetmeat:

Bradley said the company is about to start filming its first project, titled Saint John of Las Vegas, featuring Steve Buscemi, the hapless and horny kidnapper-turned-murderer in Fargo.

The IndieVest idea is an interesting one, and I applaud anything that will get more indies cranked out for public consumption. I’m just not so sure it will actually work. Here’s hoping.

Buscemi gets Emmy nod

The 60th Annual Emmy Award nominations were laid out today, and Buscemi received a nod for his role as the skeezy PI Len on 30 Rock. The episode (screencaps here) was a riot. 30 Rock received a total of 17 well deserved nominations.

Get your voodoo dolls out, kids, it’s time to get to work.

Hallo, Pepe

Apparently midget sex tapes and panty flashes are in a lull at the moment (perhaps hanging out somewhere with the housing market and overall economy, just saying) because TMZ has managed to find the time to match up or favorite celebs with their Muppet dopplegangers. Fun!

Although I have to admit, they got some spot-on. Carrot Top and Beeker? Janice and Donatella? Comedy Gold. Points deducted for reusing Muppets, however - that kind of kills the fantasy.

Patriotic Punk

Steve Buscemi, who was in the Jim Jarmusch movie Mystery Train with Strummer, confesses that he was just as nervous to be working with the rocker as he would be working with Brando or De Niro.

A somewhat sad but overall touching write-up of Mr. Strummer and The Future is Unwritten, hitting stores July 8. Apparently he was quite the American patriot, despite being a Brit by birth and a punk by design.
