Four word film reviews
Posted by Mona - No CommentsFour Word Film Reviews follows my philosophy on life: get to the point and then shut the hell up.
Buscemi drills his part.
Prisoners find respect, sex.
Midget quits bad movie.
66 Buscemi films are reviewed, from 28 Days (Bullock’s an Absolut disaster!) to Trees Lounge (Steve Booze-scemi.) This website is surprisingly addicting with some greatly amusing quips.
25 Ugliest

Buscemi ranks at #10 on the 25 Ugliest Celebrities list.
He was Ugly in Reservoir Dogs. He was Ugly in Fargo. And more recently, he was Ugly in The Sopranos. The guy is good.
I’m a little offended, frankly. I’ve always had unusual taste in men (just ask my mother) but what first drew me to Buscemi’s films was his appearance. Years later, he’s become much more attractive to me because I can appreciate his personality, level of talent, giving and selfless nature - not to mention his gorgeous blue eyes and warm laugh. I’d have drinks with him, Willem Dafoe (#14) or Tim Burton (#7) over some Face-of-the-Moment What’s-His-Name from Hairspray, or was it High School Musical 2?
Not only that, but #10? TEN? Surely they’re joking. Buscemi’s made a career out of being creepy, gross and entirely unpleasant, and he’s ranked at only #10? Get real!
Nobody does dangerous-yet-sexy fireside hobo quite like B:

Lebowski book

The madness continues! Nine years later, The Big Lebowski is still running on full steam. From the creators of Lebowskifest (I still need to buy that bumper sticker) comes a book on being Dude all day, every day.
The authors provide behind-the-scenes insights into the Coen brothers’ directing methods and tips on how to “Dude-ify” your office (download a screen saver with the sound of lapping water and a humpback whale song); your car (affix a bowling trophy to the hood); and your home (nail homemade security device to floor to keep out nihilists).
Also included are interviews with the cast, including Steve Buscemi (Buscemi was ‘the only actor’ to turn down the interview request. Tsk tsk. -Ed), John Turturro, and Philip Seymour Hoffman, with a foreword by Jeff Bridges. Will there be photos, I wonder? When will the madness end?
This guy looks like Steve Buscemi
Posted by Mona - No CommentsI was scanning the Web, one thing led to another and I found myself reading this article about Clay Buchholz. By the way, this is Clay Buchholz:

It reads, in part:
The coolest thing about the young (23 years old) Mr. Buchholz is how, rather than looking like his namesake, the late, not-so-great German film star, Horst (the James Dean of Germany) Buchholz, Clay bears a striking resemblance to American indie-film icon Steve Buscemi.
We urge young Clay to check out Buscemi’s directorial debut, Trees Lounge, in case he’s ever tempted to give up being a multi-millionaire pitching star for driving an ice cream truck in a rapidly dying small town.
I am not a sports fan, really, but a millionaire 23-year-old who looks very vaguely like my favorite actor (it’s the eyes, maybe?) is welcome by for tea anytime.
Pink don’t do it, but…

Guess what? It is no secret people don’t tip “well” for “service” ever since Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs’ Monologue by Steve Buscemi.
Steve Buscemi, you monster! You’ve ruined tipping for everyone!
A bulletin about tipping your server, reposted by several of TISB’s dear MySpace friends; simply too ridiculous not to share. You crazy kids! Continue reading Pink don’t do it, but……
A face only a mother could love
Posted by Mona - No CommentsOne of the things that made me chuckle in the Delirious trailer is Les’ computer desktop: it’s a picture of his own face. I haven’t seen the movie, but I’m guessing that says a bit about his character. No offense, if you also use your own photo as a wallpaper. To each his own, and I’m sure you’re really quite attractive.
However, if you need a change of scenery, click here. Tom DiCillo, before going off on his Jamaican holiday (if only in his mind), released a hi-res copy of the movie desktop photo. I’ve tested it on my 19″ work screen, and it looks rather good. I have officially applied it to my own computer at home for encouragement.
It stares out at me, pensive and hypnotic in my laptop’s soft and bathing glow. Edit those screencaps, it seems to say. Post another blog entry, it’s okay. Are you sure you got everything? Spellcheck, just one more time. You don’t need to feed your guinea pigs, silly girl, you’re far too busy with all that coding. You won’t get fired if you skip just one department meeting, because those movie synopsis’ won’t write themselves.
Yes, Steve Buscemi. Right away. Another sandwich, Steve Buscemi?
PRI Interview
Posted by Mona - No CommentsAs I was climbing into bed last week, I happened to check my alarm volume (tuned to NPR) and heard the soothing tones of Buscemi streaming in stereo sound. I’d just found myself halfway through Fair Game’s PRI Interview interview. What luck, huh?
It’s a good one, of course. I wouldn’t have inquired about the Vince Vaughn incident, but that’s just me; it seemed to make him a little uncomfortable, as I think we all would be, chatting on live radio about getting violently stabbed. What sticks in my mind most of all is his laughter. How often do you hear a Steve Buscemi chuckle? In the movies, almost never. Ah, that laughter, like music to the ears!
OFFICIAL Delirious trailer!
Posted by Mona - No CommentsIt feels like I’ve been waiting for this trailer forever.

Delirious opens August 15 to limited audiences, and will surely bring much success and happiness to its already sparkling stars: Steve Buscemi, Alison Lohman, Michael Pitt, Elvis Costello and Gina Gershon.
We love you, Tom DiCillo; we don’t care if you have no advertising budget.
