Gosh, another year already?! Happy 2nd birthday, TISB! I’m afraid the new site design has been delayed, as life has been rather busy these last few weeks. Have no fear, it shall reveal itself by this evening. Just two minutes after midnight, I give you the second year design. There are a few tweaks left to do, but I’ll deal with all that tomorrow. This birthday girl needs a rest.

After a year and six months online, TISB lands a sweet spot on SB’s Worldwide Wikipedia. We are up in Japanese, Dutch, German, French, Russian and a host of other tongues, including the #1 external link in English. This is a big milestone for this website. I’ve never been so proud of my baby.

Welcome to new

So the new layout’s been up a few days, and hopefully everyone is digging it. It’s viewed best on a wide screen, but if it looks absolutely awful to you, please tell me so I can readjust the sizes. I was going for kind of a versatile-yet-functional-and-clean feeling. Each new version will bring a new picture on top, so I suppose this is v. Crazy Eyes. A post revamp will follow shortly, with lots of formatting issues addressed. I know everything pre-domain is still a little funky, and I apologize. You should know I have no social life, so there isn’t an excuse.

Please notice the yellow-lighted text to your right. That’s the new Sideblog, a place to put info that doesn’t merit it’s own whole post or when I just can’t get enough of myself. Expect frequent updates (kidding).

Aside from the 50th birthday (tomorrow!), the Oscars are just a few short months away. As busy as he’s been, and as he always is, I wonder if Buscemi will finally get some Academy love? Nominees will be announced January 21. Get your voodoo dolls out, kids. Best Actor (Or Actor in a Supporting Role, which seems infinitely more likely) is the goal this year, an award that’s quite overdue.

We are T-minus 9 days until the big 5-0, people. I hope you bought a card. I am aiming for December 13th as the date I put the new website design up - deadlines are healthy, and what better day than that?

Excuse me, I have to brag.

On September 13 I wrote about Buscemi’s big win in the Rockets Redglare! suit against Mark Broder. After a nap and a long coffee break, AP stepped up and made it a headline yesterday. That’s three days after my original post. Now that AP deigned it news, the story is everywhere. But the real news? I beat AP! By three freakin’ days!

This calls for ice cream.

Monday downtime

Well, hello there.

TISB is going to experience some downtime on Monday, anywhere from 4-8 hours. My host is hauling things over to a new location, so little blackouts like what happened earlier this year (when the site was down for hours and hours; I was panicked, pissed and all over their support boards) won’t happen again. They’re supposed to toss up an ‘under maintenance’ page but in case they miss us, that’s the scoop. -M

Well, here we are. One year ago, I posted my very first blog entry on MySpace, and it was all over. In case you were wondering, it was a cast update for I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, which went on to hit #1 at the box office just a few weeks ago.The site moved off MySpace to a hosted WordPress blog, and a few months ago I finally shelled out the 8 bucks for a domain, some of the best money I’ve ever spent.
