TMZ sucks

You’ll agree with me once you watch this video. As one commenter eloquently put it:

Way to ignore the questions of an idiot without acting offended. Buscemi is great.

The cameraman sounds like a fucking moron while Buscemi looks at him like he’s a fucking moron. Now that’s entertainment.

Igor Goodies

Just days before its cinematic debut, here are three new clips from the delightful looking Igor, via Worst Previews.

Clip 1
: We meet Fredrick, a gentleman evil scientist that vaguely reminds me of an ex boyfriend, swimwear and all.
Clip 2: “I’d rather be a good nobody than an evil somebody.” I sense a movie moral! Also, Igor makes delicious tea.
Clip 3: Scamper! What else could you possibly need to know?

The Igor premiere was September 13, and while my invitation clearly got lost in the mail, Tara Met Blog was right there on the purple (purple) carpet ready for interviews and photo-ops. Here’s the interview video, with Buscemi popping up at 2:45 to answer an poorly-researched question. I can’t tease her too much, since Buscemi apparently only remembers voicing Monsters, Inc. Oh well. Stick around for the cute kid afterward. I think he’s the same one that was in Tropic Thunder.

Igor comes out nationwide on September 19! Here’s a purple carpet premiere photo to tide you over.

International Igor trailer

Forgive my negligence in not posting the original trailer for this can’t-miss animated film. In my defense, however, international trailers are usually way better (with way more nudity, not that that applies in this case) so really, I’ve done you a favor. Featuring the vocal skills of John Cusack, John Cleese, Molly Shannon and, of course, Steve Buscemi, Igor will be theatre-ready on September 19.

Ain’t no klepto

I know you all know this already, such big fans that we are. But just in case…

That’s not Steve Buscemi, nor (I suspect) would SB ever steal from a teenager for the cash they pay in commercial work.

Netflix interview

Thanks to Mel, here’s the Netflix/Jiminy Glick Iinterview from the Independent Spirit Awards. I’ll be frank with you, I only watched about halfway through. Martin Short really gets on my nerves sometimes. Buscemi’s looking pretty sharp though.

Joe Strummer still totally rules

Buscemi appears alongside a graffiti wall of Joe Strummer in the 2004 music video for Redemption Song, released after the famous singer’s death. He also participated in The Future is Unwritten, a 2007 documentary about Strummer and The Clash. Strummer, real name John Graham Mellor, died in 2002.

Bonus awesomeness from ISA 08

This video is fantastic. FANTASTIC. Not just because Aaron is hot, either: dude waltzes up to Buscemi and gives props for Miller’s Crossing. Buscemi’s reaction is great, although I can’t help but think it would have been ten times better if burly security guards had tackled Micah to the floor.

ISA 2008: The video gods appease me

Hollywood Live! has a cute red carpet video straight from the Independent Spirit Awards. (Netflix is officially off the Christmas card list.) Watch the whole thing for some very sweet sentiments, or catch Buscemi and his wife briefly at 1:03.

2008 Indie Spirit Awards

I sifted though 600+ pictures to find these gems - before my coffee, no less - so please smile and enjoy them extra hard. Special thanks to Cinematical, who got the ball rolling on my photo hunt.

Sienna Miller, sadly, did not win Best Actress but she did look very lovely all dressed up.

Until Netflix gets their shit together and posts the Jiminy Glick/Steve Buscemi interview, here’s the next best thing: John Waters. (Warning: Jiminy Glick isn’t funny, proceed with caution.)

Buscemi on Henry Rollins

Months ago (May 25, 2007), Buscemi made an appearance on The Henry Rollins Show. The entire interview is now available online via YouTube.

Pretty fantastic stuff. He looks so… happy. He opens up a lot about some private subjects, without a whole lot of prodding. I really enjoyed seeing it all come out.
